Hello all!! I thought this would be a good way to keep everyone up on our goings-on. I will try to post as often as we have news -which with two kids, a husband who travels a lot and many friends - should be quite a bit.
The kids and I just returned from a lovely 10 days in Tennessee with my parents. We were there over Easter while Greg was out of the country. While we were gone we had the living room painted a grayish-greenish-blue (its a Ralph Lauren color called 'Kauai' in case you are interested in discerning the actual shade - we bought the paint at Home Depot) and it looks lovely. Now we are back and the weather is finally warming up. After a wonderfully warm March - we had a chilly start to April - including some (gasp!) snow that alledgedly stuck to the rooftops Easter morning (we were not here to witness it - thank goodness). We also have a new above ground pool that we have been in the process of setting up (yes - I did say 'process'). It is a HUGE pool - 16x48 and 4 feet deep! It is set up and to be filled this evening or tomorrow. I had to go buy chemicals for it yesterday. Jackson is very excited at the prospect of swimming in it.
Greg has been very busy at work and with flying - as I mentioned - he returned from South Ameica last week and should stay put for awhile - we hope. I am still teaching Jazzercise 3-4 times a week. We also got "gently nudged" to teach Jackson's Sunday School class at our church. Jackson thinks it is very cool that mom and dad are his teachers. We will think it is cool when May 27 comes around and we are done! Last weekend Jackson and his dad went to the airshow at Eglin - while Emilie and I stayed home and worked on crawling.
Jackson is in preschool at Trinity United Methodist and loves it. His class has been thorough three teachers this year, as the first one left to take a job at the elementary school, and the second one had some complications with a surgery. Nevertheless, he loves going to school and has MANY friends. His best buddies in school are his longtime buddy Jared and our neighbor Cedric (both Jared and Cedric's dads work with Greg). Lucas - another classmate - also got very popular with Jackson after he got glasses - for some reason Jackson is fascinated with his specs! He is very excied that his friend Tyler is moving back after being gone for a year. So Tyler will joining Jackson at Trinity next year for PreK as well as his friend Katherine. Jackson is also playing T-ball this spring and seems to really like it. His favorite color is purple, so he picked out a purple bat at Wal-Mart and thinks that is cool. It has been fun for us to throw the ball around with him (and just with each other) in the yard...
Emilie has her first tooth as of April 9. She cut it on the drive back from Tennessee to Florida which was no fun for me or her grandma - who helped us drive back. She is a chubby little thing and curious about everything. She loves nothing more than to have her voice heard - and if you are not paying attention to her - she will let you know about it! She is a good eater - and not such a great sleeper - but she is very adorable!!! She is almost crawling and loves being in the water - so the pool should be fun for her
